Donaldson Company, Inc. announces the availability in the USA of its new FPK02 high pressure hydraulic filter series, rated for high pressures 6000 psi.
The FPK02 handles even higher pressures—up to 6000 psi instead of the 2000 psi limit of Donaldson’s popular HPK02 series—yet uses the same replacement elements as the HPK02. The new FPK02 Series is manufactured at Donaldson Italy and has been available for several years through European operation.
The FPK02 Hydraulic Filter Assembly is competitively priced and is offered in two sizes: 8.75”/223mm (weighing 9 lbs/ 4 kg) and 12.75”/324mm (weighing 13 lbs/ 6 kg.) FPK02 housings are available with bypass options: Standard Bypass Valve, No Bypass Valve, and Bypass with Reverse-flow Check Valve.
One of the unique features about the FPK02 is that it is available with a reverse flow check valve, which is a bit unusual on a filter this physically small and with a relatively low flow rate (20 gpm.) Typically used in hydrostatic transmissions and other lower flow applications, the reverse flow check valve allows reverse flow through the filter head, but not through the filter.
High pressure hydraulic oil filters are often used in pressure circuits, injection molding machines, servo valve circuits and other industrial applications. For instance, this filter is needed in the lumber industry— when logs are cut into planks, a servo valve is used to align the saw blades to exact specifications. The servo valves are close tolerance mechanisms that need very clean oil. Donaldson filters help keep the machinery functioning well and consistently.
