DONALDSON INTRODUCES SMALLER, MORE EFFICIENT AIR FILTRATION SOLUTION FOR HEAVY-DUTY ENGINE MANUFACTURERS
New aftermarket PowerCore(tm) air cleaner adapted for use in a wide range of vehicles and engine sizes

MINNEAPOLIS, March 15, 2005- As heavy-duty transportation and off-road diesel engine designs become more compact, engine manufacturer's need to incorporate compact, space-saving filtration solutions, without compromising efficiency and performance. To help manufacturers overcome such challenges, Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI) introduces its innovative two-stage air cleaner utilizing PowerCore(tm) filtration technology to its aftermarket standard catalog product line. The new two-stage PowerCore standard line air cleaners feature a compact design and higher filtration efficiency than conventional filtration products for a wide range of vehicles and engine sizes.

PSD Aftermarket Air Cleaners with PowerCore™Filtration Technology. The PowerCore filter has twice the amount of filter media as conventional pleated media used in traditional engine filtration solutions. The air cleaner combines high-efficiency inertial separator tubes - close-coupled to the new media design for maximum performance. The new filter also features a revolutionary, fluted media design to further improve air filtration and a new racetrack shape; these features result in easier packaging in space-constrained areas and increased mounting flexibility.

"Our new aftermarket PowerCore air cleaners outperform every air cleaner in their class, giving medium- and heavy-duty engine manufacturers a means of meeting space constrained engine-design requirements while still benefiting from superior filtration capabilities. We are very excited to now offer PowerCore products in our aftermarket standard product line," said, Cary Olson, Donaldson's General Manager, Engine Air Filtration. "Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from current users, we are very pleased to be able to extend our patented PowerCore technology to aftermarket applications."

First introduced in 1999 as a smaller, more efficient alternative to larger, conventional air filter systems, Donaldson PowerCore filtration technology was initially used in off-road equipment and heavy-duty truck air intake applications. Noticeably different in shape and style than other filtration technologies, the technology continues to be adapted for use in a wide range of vehicles and engine sizes.
