  • IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DUST EXPLOSION CONTROL FOR DUST CONTROLLERS. ATEX CONSULTING FOR OPERATORS.

The EU sets new standards for explosion control, which are laid down in the guideline 1999/92/EG (ATEX 137), and this concerns every company which can not completely exclude explosion risks. Among other things ATEX 137 also determines that the operator must exactly examine individual risks with regard to dust explosion control. He must state, which measures have been taken, and he must also define the zones within the dust explosion-endangered areas. All this is laid down in an explosion control document.

As a manufacturer of dust collection and filtration systems, Donaldson has comprehensive industry and branch specific experience in the application of the ATEX guidelines: Since 1.7.2003 Donaldson manufactures systems, which can in accordance with ATEX 95 (94/9/EG) be used in dust explosion-endangered areas.

Donaldson now also provides their broad dust explosion control know-how in the form of consultation. During the investigation the "degree of cleanliness" plays an important role, because each dust deposit within ex ranges present a latent danger, as whirled up dust can catch fire. Thus cleanliness - which is ensured among other things by an effective dedusting – contributes to increased safety. During an ATEX consultation the user can use the opportunity to have the efficiency of his dust control system examined.
