DONALDSON FILTRATION WILL IMPROVE OPERATING CAPABILITIES OF THE PATRIA AMV 8X8 EVEN FUTHER
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., October 10, 2011 – Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE: DCI), has once again demonstrated the unmatched flexibility and capability of its filter technologies. The company has combined two proven systems in a new application that greatly improves engine filtration protection and thus increases the operational effectiveness of the Patria AMV (Armored Modular Vehicle) even further.
Donaldson will deliver the first five systems to Patria in the first quarter of 2012, and the system will be an option on all future Patria AMVs. The Donaldson system will also available for retrofit in AMVs already in service worldwide.
Patria selected Donaldson to design a new AMV filtration solution to improve performance and life-cycle requirements. Donaldson combined a scavenge-air pre-cleaning section with the company’s Vee-Pac™ inlet barrier filter to provide the best dust and particle protection available today for the Patria AMV’s diesel engine.
The pre-cleaning unit utilizes Donaldson Strata™ Tube technology that provides superior elimination of airborne particles before they enter the AMV’s engine intake filter. The Vee-Pac barrier filter contains Donaldson’s Ultra-WebŪ nanofiber filtration media, the industry’s most efficient filtration material, which prevents clogging by capturing tiny particles on the filter’s surface for efficient continued air flow and easy maintenance and cleaning. Donaldson utilized an aluminum housing for the entire unit to reduce system weight.

Patria and Lockheed Martin joined forces in 2007 to offer the AMV for the new U.S. Marine Corps’ Marine Personnel Carrier program.
