  • IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PROGRAMMABLE AND INTERNET COMPATIBLE
NEW COMPRESSED AIR CONDENSATE DRAIN WITH BUILT-IN „INTELLIGENCE“

The fact that electronics opens new saving potentials for compressed air engineering is demonstrated by Donaldson Ultrafilter with the new electronically level-controlled condensate drain UFM-T05, which is immediately available. It will replace the UFM-T1, of which several hundred thousands are currently in use.

Despite the extraordinarily compact design the developers were able to include substantial additional functions. The level sensors - which release the signal for separating the condensate – are individually calibrated at the factory, if the application requires this over and above the standard calibration. By means of a programming unit the Donaldson service can at a later point in time adjust the value, even after the drain has been installed.

The service-oriented level of development of the new UFM-T05 becomes apparent by the potential integration of the Ultraconnect module: this means that data on the operating status of the UFM-T05 “superplus” can for example be sent via internet to external control rooms or directly to a service technician. If defined parameters are exceeded or drop below the predefined values the UFM-T05 automatically sends out emergency notifications. Via internet the user and/or the service can be informed of the operating status of the condensate drain. These possibilities are also used in the context of the Donaldson Total Filter Management, because the data of the condensate drains permit conclusions on the operating status of compressors, filters and/or the compressed air network.

The UFM-T05 is constructed in such a way, that even under harsh conditions and at a minimum maintenance, it functions reliably over extremely long service lives. The all-purpose voltage supply (24 V - 300 VDC and/or 90 V - 230 VAC; 50/ 60 cycles per second) permits flexible usage according to the slogan of "one for all"; for connection to superior control systems the "superplus" version is available with a potential free signal connection. On the unit itself a LED provides information about the operating status.

The new condensate drain is suitable for separating performances of up to 6 l condensate in ten minutes. On average this corresponds to the accumulated quantity of condensate, which a 30 kW compressor or a filter with a flow capacity of 100 m³/min produces and/or separates. For larger condensate volumes (up to 100 litres in 10 minutes) the larger models UFM-T10 to UFM-T100 are available. Also versions for higher pressure ranges and models with an additional heating system are available. The modular structure of the whole range, with many identical parts, ensures the precise adjustment to the necessary capacities and a fast and cost effective service.
