Leuven, Belgium (30 March, 2003)—Donaldson introduces two new fume collectors especially well-suited for filtering fumes emitted in laser cutting applications. The only fume collectors with oval-shaped filter cartridges, DFPRO3 and DFPRO4 provide a higher level of efficiency and performance in footprints that conserve valuable manufacturing floor space.
DFPRO fume collectors are the next generation in Donaldson’s unique oval-shaped cartridge filter and patented Downflo® filtration technologies. Oval filters, which allow more airflow through the collector while reducing the risk of abrasion to the filter media, is the distinguishing technology in Donaldson’s award-winning, U.S.-patented Downflo® Oval 1™ dust collectors. DFPRO with oval filters is an extension of Donaldson’s popular DF+ line of collectors engineered with Downflo filtration technology and circular-shaped cartridge filters.
DFPRO’s compact design and increased airflow allows manufacturers to select a smaller collector while maintaining current capacity or increase airflow with a same-sized collector. DFPRO also enlists Donaldson’s patented Ultra-Web® filter media, a proprietary nanofiber technology that traps contaminant on the surface of the filter for quicker release, greater filtration efficiency and easier cleaning than conventional depth-loading cellulose, polyester or cellulose/polyester blend media.
DFPRO is designed with an integral low pressure drop spark trap for filtering laser fumes and it can be easily adapted for dust collection applications. Extremely fast and easy to install, DFPRO provides quick access to filters and quiet operation with a maximum fan noise level of 65dB (A).
