TCB – Total Control Board is the name of the new differential pressure and cleaning control currently being presented by Donaldson, and in future it will initiate and monitor the cleaning cycles of the larger dust collectors of the brand Donaldson Torit DCE. Looking at the control element it is quite clear why “Total Control Board” is the most appropriate name. The operator has everything under control, because all relevant parameters are identifiable. It displays the differential pressure, as well as the load of the filter elements. Furthermore, the Donaldson service can call up the most critical parameter on to the display. Differential pressure developments can be called up again, just as warning signals as well as the ventilator starts and stops and the cleaning cycles can also be called up again.
The operator benefits from the transparency of information, because he can optimise the operation of the system by making use of the data. The Donaldson service can also make use of the advantages of the TCB-control, because the comprehensive data collection allows for a preventative maintenance, and also simplifies the error diagnostics when irregularities occur.
The TCB-control not only helps provide a „transparent“ dust collector, it also provides easier operation of the dust collector system. During the normal operation mode the operator can conduct a manual cleaning operation and start or switch off the ventilator. In the modes “setting” and “service”, which are protected by a password, the control can exactly be adapted to the individual circumstances.
It is self-evident, that this new generation of control satisfies the relevant international guidelines. The control can also be used in explosion endangered areas (category 3D) and as an option it could also be connected to a superior control room by making use of a power supply line. An integrated interface enables the efficiency to be increased by updates.
With the TCB-control Donaldson demonstrates, that modern control technology can significantly contribute to improving the efficiency of dust collector systems. The first tests have shown that due to the flexibility and efficiency of the control it can measure and evaluate different parameters, which provides for economical operation of the dust collector system. To enable as many operators as possible to benefit from this advantage, as from the beginning of next year (2005) the TCB control will be part for the standard equipment in all Donaldson Torit DCE dust collectors.
