MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 4, 2006 — Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE:DCI) a leading, worldwide provider of filtration systems, is pleased to announce the release of its new ChemCore™ advanced airborne molecular contamination (AMC) filters. Building on Donaldson’s success with its PowerCoreÔ Filtration Technology, ChemCore has been developed to remove base and acid gases from ambient air. ChemCore filters are light weight, offering lower pressure drop, long life, high removal efficiency, and easy installation.
ChemCore is an open channel alternative to packed-bed carbon filters. Capable of removing contaminants such as ammonia (NH3) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), these filters have an initial removal efficiency rate of greater than 99.99 percent. ChemCore filters can be used to control corrosion, salt formation, and other adverse effects on chemical processes.
In a recent test conducted by IMEC, Europe’s leading independent nanoelectronics research center, the ChemCore filter was compared to traditional carbon filters on air flow velocity, vibration, and NH3 removal on the Immersion Interference Printer, an advanced lithography research tool. By installing ChemCore high density filters on its interference setup and tracks, IMEC was able to efficiently control amines while cutting back on the fan speed setting, which resulted in lower vibration and lower power usage.
Other features of the ChemCore advanced AMC filters include:
- Versatility of media format: ChemCore can be shaped into cylindrical and rectangular forms and is available in standard and high density versions
- Open channel architecture minimizes impact on airflow
Applications include: flow benches, filter fan units, re-circulation systems, and environments where low pressure drop and high removal efficiency is required, such as the semiconductor, microelectronic, medical device, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
